The territory

A Journey to the Heart of Life

The Colombian Amazon is far more than a tourist destination; it is a journey to the very origin of life, an encounter with the exuberance of nature in its purest and most powerful form. This territory, which holds the greatest biodiversity on the planet, is home to Indigenous communities that have preserved age-old knowledge about the rainforest and its secrets, offering a unique perspective on the relationship between human beings and their natural surroundings.

At Cúspide Travel we have designed experiences that let you immerse yourself in the magic of the Amazon in a conscious and transformative way, combining the exploration of its natural wonders with learning from ancestral wisdom and practices that strengthen your connection with yourself and with the life force present in every corner of this unique ecosystem. Every route is planned to offer not only an outer journey through dreamlike landscapes, but also an inner journey of transformation and expanded awareness.

What you travel through

Essential places

Aerial view of Leticia and the Amazon River

Leticia and Surroundings

Capital of the Amazonas department and the main gateway to the Colombian rainforest. Beyond being a starting point, Leticia and its surroundings offer valuable experiences such as a visit to the Mundo Amazónico Ecological Park, where you can learn about Amazonian ecosystems, medicinal plants and conservation projects; Monkey Island, a natural sanctuary where you can meet monkeys living freely; and Puerto Nariño, known as "Colombia's nativity scene", a model ecological town with pedestrian streets and exemplary sustainable practices.

Traditional maloca in an Amazonian Indigenous community

Indigenous Communities

The Colombian Amazon is home to numerous Indigenous peoples such as the Ticuna, Yagua, Cocama, Huitoto and Bora, among others, who have preserved their ancestral knowledge and their harmonious relationship with the rainforest. Our experiences include respectful visits to communities that have decided to share aspects of their culture with visitors, offering the chance to learn about their worldview, traditional medicine, crafts and ways of life. These encounters, always guided by each community's protocols and wishes, are among the most enriching and transformative experiences of an Amazon journey.

Elevated walkway in the Amazon rainforest

Tanimboca Nature Reserve

Located 11 km from Leticia, this 33-hectare private reserve offers a deep immersion in the Amazonian ecosystem. Its elevated walkways, observation towers and treehouse accommodation let you experience the rainforest from different perspectives. Our experiences include day and night walks guided by expert naturalists who reveal the secrets of Amazonian flora and fauna; practices of presence and connection on raised platforms with panoramic views of the forest; and magical nights in treehouses, where the enveloping sound of the nocturnal forest creates the perfect setting for introspection and reconnection with natural rhythms.

Sailing the Amazon River at sunset

Sailing the Amazon River

The majestic Amazon River, with its coffee-coloured waters and impressive vastness, is the lifeline of the region and an experience in itself. Our trips in local boats let you experience Amazonian river life, visiting riverside communities, observing the transition between different ecosystems and connecting with the unique energy of this sacred river. We include moments of silent navigation, where simply contemplating the flow of the water becomes a deep meditative practice, and the chance to experience sunrises and sunsets from the river — moments of extraordinary beauty that stay in the memory and the heart.

Pink river dolphins in the Amazon

Tarapoto Lakes

This system of lakes and channels near Puerto Nariño is one of the best places to observe the emblematic pink and grey river dolphins of the Amazon, regarded as sacred by many Indigenous cultures. Our experiences include journeys in traditional canoes guided by local experts who know exactly where and how to find these magnificent animals without disturbing them. Beyond simple observation, we create moments of conscious connection with these intelligent and playful beings, whom many traditions consider messengers between worlds and whose presence has a deeply healing effect on those who open to their energy.

Monument at the triple border between Colombia, Brazil and Peru

The Triple Border

The point where Colombia, Brazil and Peru meet offers a unique experience of cultural diversity. From Leticia you can easily visit Tabatinga (Brazil) and Santa Rosa (Peru, reached by boat), seeing how Amazonian cultures transcend national borders while noticing the subtle differences between the three countries. Our experiences include walks through local markets where products and traditions from all three countries mingle; visits to cross-border community projects working on Amazon conservation; and spaces for reflection on the very idea of borders, both geographical and personal, and how to move beyond them towards a more integrated and harmonious view.

Trail in Amacayacu National Park

Amacayacu National Park

With more than 293,000 hectares of protected rainforest, this national park is a sanctuary of biodiversity where you can experience the Amazon at its most pristine. Although the main visitor facilities remain closed for recovery, specific sectors can be visited with authorised guides. Our experiences include walks along selected trails that reveal the incredible diversity of Amazonian flora; visits to Indigenous communities inside and around the park who take part in its conservation; and practices of conscious connection in places of extraordinary energy and beauty, where the life force of the rainforest is felt with particular intensity.

Victoria regia, the giant water lily of the Amazon

Mocagua Island

This island in the Amazon River, inhabited by the Tikuna Indigenous community of the same name, offers a perfect combination of lush nature and living culture. The community has developed ecotourism initiatives that let visitors learn about their way of life while directly supporting the local economy. Our experiences include traditional craft workshops with local masters; ethnobotanical walks to learn about medicinal plants and their uses; and the chance to take part in everyday community activities, from preparing traditional food to small-scale fishing, always in a spirit of respectful exchange and mutual learning.
